About The Capitalyst

Most business coverage tells you what someone built. We’re more interested in why they built it, what it cost them, and what they’d do differently if they were starting over today.

The Capitalyst exists because the best stories in business and culture rarely come out in a press release. They come out in the pause before someone answers a question they weren’t expecting, or in the detail they almost left out because it felt too personal to be relevant. We go looking for that. Founders who left stable careers for something riskier and stranger. Designers who spent a decade arguing with their own instincts before a single piece found its shape. Family businesses where three generations disagree about pace and have learned to call that disagreement trust. Curators, collectors, chefs, architects and entrepreneurs who are quietly deciding what culture and commerce will look like next, long before anyone else notices.

We don’t write puff pieces, and we don’t write hit pieces either. We write the version of the conversation that treats the person across from us as someone with a real answer worth waiting for, not a quote to be extracted and moved past. That means long interviews. That means asking the question twice when the first answer is too polished. That means checking the facts because the people we feature deserve to be represented accurately, not just flatteringly.

If you’ve built something, broken something, or are still in the middle of figuring out which one it’s going to be, you’re exactly who we want to talk to.
